Tourist Information
Gartocharn is centrally located, with Stirling and Glasgow each about a 40 minute drive away and Edinburgh approximately 90 minutes away. There are a number of B & Bs and self-catering establishments in and around the village and many more within close proximity.
Being situated within the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, close to the West Highland Way and the National Cycle Route 7 (which runs along the minor road immediately south of Gartocharn), there are a great variety of things to do, far too many to list here. Only three miles away in Balloch you will find a Visitor Information Office to browse around and help you get a plan together – there is so much to see and do, you'll need one! At Lomond Shores, also in Balloch, you will find something to please all the family.
If you have transport and are willing to go a little further afield there are endless opportunities for those who love the great outdoors – walking, cycling, bird-watching, fishing, garden visits and, of course, you don't even need to get out of the car to see the wonderful Scottish countryside. The Trossachs, the Arrochar Alps, Inveraray and Perthshire are just some of a huge number of lovely places to visit and are all within an hour's drive of Gartocharn.
More details, can be found on the Loch Lomond area of the the VisitScotland website.
